How PingWatch works today

This page documents the product as it currently exists in the app, including monitoring, incidents, analytics, notifications, reports, and admin operations.

Platform overview

PingWatch is an operational monitoring platform for websites, APIs, and SSL/TLS certificates. It combines monitor execution, incidents, analytics, notifications, customer reports, and admin response workflows in one product.

Monitoring capabilities

You can create HTTP/API monitors and SSL/TLS certificate monitors. HTTP monitors support status checks, headers, request bodies, auth settings, redirects, response-time thresholds, and API assertions such as JSON path validation and expected headers.

Incidents and history

When check results cross configured thresholds, PingWatch updates monitor state and opens incidents. History and analytics pages then provide a timeline of check outcomes, incident events, and recovery activity.

Notifications

Users can configure email notifications for incident-opened and recovery events. Delivery settings are controlled from the Notifications page, while the system-wide email provider is managed from the admin side.

Reports and admin workflow

Users can submit bug or incident reports from the dashboard. Admins review those reports from the admin console, update status and priority, leave internal notes, and send feedback back to the reporting user by email.
